A Deposited Plan is a plan that has been lodged with the NSW LRS and defines the legal boundary information of the land.
Deposited Plans most commonly depict the subdivision of a parcel of land.
If the intention of a property owner is to create a new land parcel and subdivide, or deal with an existing parcel of land, they are required to engage a registered surveyor to prepare an accurate plan of the parcel of land. This system was put in place in 1863 during the inception of the Real Property Act.
A Deposited Plan is identified using a ‘DP’ number.
What is an 88B?
An 88B is an instrument that is attached to a Deposited Plan, which upon registration will create easements, restrictions on the use of land and positive covenants.
